Sydney has an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master in Biomedical Engineering. Sydney worked on an ankle foot orthotic design, which is closely related to the field in which Vessl now innovates. Her medical device design experience (3 years) equips the company with knowledge on the design process.

Oleksiy has his PhD in clinical anatomy and has taught medical classes to science and medical students, bringing an in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology to Vessl. His expertise (8 years) enhances the company’s ability to design with the user in mind, including their complex physiology.

Vessl’s mission is to make amputees’ lives more comfortable, empowering them to overcome obstacles. Vessl is developing the isoform socket, which automatically adjusts to changes in leg size to avoid pressures on the leg that often lead to blisters. That way, amputees can move comfortably and confidently without the hassle of making socket adjustments or fear of reamputation.
